'Word of mouth' is better than reviews for estate agents

A recent survey has revealed that only18 per cent of vendors favour reviews over personal recommendations when it comes to choosing an estate agent.

Even amongst Millennials, the proportion favouring reviews is just 24 per cent.

And when it comes to selecting a conveyancer, only 17 per cent say that they trust the opinions of online reviews and customer feedback.

The research has been commissioned by PropTech firm When You Move and involved canvassing the views of 2,006 home owners and an unspecified number of what the firm calls “property-minded consumers”.

Other findings included:

• 38 per cent say they don’t trust conveyancer referrals from estate agents. Those responding say referral fees make them suspicious
• 29 per cent say that once an offer has been accepted by a seller, the level of service they receive from property professionals decreases.
• Over a third of those surveyed say the single worst part of the property transaction process was the conveyancing.

We're proud to be different

At Peter Ball & Co we're proud of the fact that we're known locally for the personal and highly individual levels of service we offer each and every one of our customers.

We believe in taking the time to get to know you. Finding out what’s important to you. And listening to your hopes and plans for the future.

It’s this personal approach that makes Peter Ball estate agents genuinely different. And it’s why so much of our business comes from direct client recommendations.
