Bristol Airport named Best in Europe Image

Bristol Airport named Best in Europe

Bristol Airport has been named as the best airport in Europe in the five to 10 million passenger category, sharing the award with Seville Airport, in Spain.

Judges recognised Bristol’s investments in infrastructure, staff training and increased public transport links.
The airport was also selected for its security search facility and achieved the highest possible score for all security indicators.

Bristol Airport expansion is good news for Gloucestershire homebuyers
Nigel Scott, business development director at the airport, said: “It is a huge honour to be voted the best airport of our size in Europe by a panel of independent experts.

“This award is recognition of the hard work, passion and commitment of the team to delivering on our promise to passengers that amazing journeys start here. Everyone in the Bristol Airport community can be proud of this achievement.”

The award comes hot on the heels of a recent announcement that the airport has ambitious plans to expand.
The airport, which thousands of Gloucestershire people use, is considering expanding or even building a second terminal, a new multi-storey car park and a revised road layout.

An application for the second phase of the plans will be submitted to North Somerset Council this autumn.
